Asher, ranked second in Class B, needed just six innings Tuesday to record a combined 38-0 doubleheader shutout of Bowlegs.
The Indians recorded a total of 32 hits on the day, while Bowlegs was held to two.
Asher led 11-0 after the first inning of the opener, and 18-0 after two. A pair of runs in the top of the third effected the 22-0 final.
Tim Johnson and Tanner Andrews combined for five strikeouts. Johnson, in picking up the win and moving to 1-0, surrendered Bowlegs’ lone hit in the game.
Andrews went on to earn the victory on the hill in the nightcap, and he shined offensively with a home run in each outing. His blast in the first game netted two runs, and he came away from the second game with four RBI.
Andrews and Zach Fowler combined for seven strikeouts in the second game.
Jake Frazier garnered six hits on the day, and Fowler finished with a double and three RBI in the opener. Johnson ended the day with five hits and three runs batted in.
Corey Holman got three hits and three RBI in the opener, and George Merchain clubbed a double and a single in the second game.
Asher played errorless ball throughout both games.
Now 2-0, the Indians will host New Lima at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. They will face third-ranked Leedey at Dolese Park in Oklahoma City Saturday.
