Propelled by a sparkling pitching performance by Conner Patton, Tecumseh recorded a 6-0 victory over Henryetta Thursday at the Preston Festival.
Patton allowed only two hits, both singles, while issuing no walks in the five-inning game. Of Henryetta’s 15 outs, 11 came by strikeouts as Patton whiffed the side in the second and fourth innings.
“Conner threw the ball well,” Tecumseh coach Chad Trahan said. “He had command of all three of his pitches. It was a good performance.”
Tecumseh was never threatened after scoring three times in the bottom of the first inning. Alan Brewer and Gage Trahan posted RBI doubles in the first.
Micah Sanchez of Tecumseh posted two singles and drove in a run.
Tecumseh, 2-2, will continue Preston Festival play today with two games — Kellyville at noon and Oktaha at 4 p.m. The Savages will conclude the festival Saturday by taking on Morris at noon.
