For a fun, fast-paced way to receive great Oklahoma art and support the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art, plan to attend Off the Wall 2013 on Friday, April 5 at 6:30 p.m.
For $50, participants receive admission for two and one ticket for artwork by an Oklahoma artist or an artist friend of the Museum.
Artwork viewing starts at 6:30 p.m. with music provided by Oklahoma Baptist University student violinist, Victoria Smith. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks, as well as homemade desserts provided by the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art volunteers, will be served.
At 7:30 p.m., the pace speeds up with drawings for paintings, sketches, basketry, photographs, pottery and other works of art created by local artists. Special guest, Jim Brown, retired Oklahoma Baptist University professor, will emcee the event.
With each drawn ticket, patrons have just 30 seconds to choose a piece of art “off the wall.” If attendees want a better chance for an art piece, which they especially like, the $50 ticket may be upgraded by paying $25 or $50 more.
Random drawings begin with the upgraded $100 “Eat-my-Dust” tickets. To purchase a ticket, visit www.mgmoa.org/offthewall or call (405) 878-5300. All proceeds benefit the Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art 2013-2014 Special Exhibition Season.
The Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art is located on the campus of St. Gregory’s University, 1900 W. MacArthur St. in Shawnee.
