Bethel High School senior Tayler Short has been selected as an Oklahoma Association of Community College Scholarship recipient and was recognized recently at the organization's annual conference.
The OACC Scholarship program honors one outstanding student from each of Oklahoma's community colleges with a $1,000 tuition waiver scholarship.
To qualify for the scholarship, a student must have a 3.5 GPA, be enrolled as an Oklahoma community college as a full-time student for the academic year 2012-13, and considered a college and community leader.
Short plans to attend Seminole State College after graduation from Bethel. She is a mentor to elementary students, girls’ basketball team trainer, babysitter and employed at the Health Food Store.
She has been on the Principal’s Honor Roll throughout her high school career and in interested in pursuing Nursing.
Certificates for the scholarships were presented at a recognition ceremony held in Oklahoma City on March 8.
