The Shawnee woman killed in an apparent domestic-related homicide Thursday morning is the daughter of a well-known Tecumseh couple slain while on vacation in New Mexico in 2010.

Shawnee Police Chief Russell Frantz identified the victim found Thursday morning in her Shawnee home as Cathy Byus, 34.

Byus is the daughter of Gary and Linda Haas. The Tecumseh couple, while on an RV trip in New Mexico in 2010, were murdered by three escapees from a Arizona prison.

Byus was found dead Thursday morning at her home, 27 Bella Vista Lane, which is in Granada Estates in Shawnee.

Frantz said the suspect in the case is reported to be the victim's husband, 24-year-old Justin Byus. He is now in police custody.

Byus was pregnant in 2010 when her parents were killed. Police have confirmed the couple have a toddler, who is reportedly staying with family.

Police are still working this homicide investigation, so further details about the case are awaited from police.
