  • Wolves open season with 5th-place outing

  • Shawnee finished fifth as a team with 349 points Monday at the State Preview at Tulsa Country Club.
     
    Deer Creek was first at 314, and defending state champion Bishop Kelley was second at 335. Tahlequah (338) was third.
     
    Shawnee is Class 5A’s defending state runner-up.
     
    Shawnee’s Garrett McDaniel, with a 76, finished in sixth place. Teammate Daniel Langley shot an 87, and Cole Humphrey and Brian Epperly each shot a 92.
     
    Jack Barrick finished with a 98.
     
    Shawnee will go to Rose Creek Thursday, April 4, for the Deer Creek Invitational.
