  • Jordan Leach and Chelsea Evans scored three times apiece as Shawnee’s Lady Wolves blanked Harding Charter Prep 7-0 Tuesday at Jim Thorpe Stadium.

Evans put Shawnee on the board prior to Leach striking for back-to-back goals and making it 3-0 at halftime. Shannon Spillers scored once for the Lady Wolves, and Spillers, Evans and Leach all had an assist apiece.

Keeper Lauren Mackey posted one save in goal.

“Even though the score was good, you could tell we had been off for a week,” said SHS girls’ coach Justin McCain. “It was good for us to get a win going into districts. There are some things we’ll work on this week.”

Shawnee’s Wolves and Lady Wolves will go to Skiatook Tuesday, April 2, to open district play.

Shawnee’s boys also recorded a shutout win Tuesday as they hit Harding with a 1-0 loss. Alec Young, from 20 yards out, scored Shawnee’s goal in the first half, and keeper Bronson Wise recorded 10 saves on the night.

The Lady Wolves are now 5-1 on the year, and the Wolves are 2-4.
