  • Class 5A sixth-ranked Bethel moved to the .500 mark with Tuesday victories over Davenport, 13-3, and Okemah, 10-2.

  • Class 5A sixth-ranked Bethel moved to the .500 mark with Tuesday victories over Davenport, 13-3, and Okemah, 10-2.
     
    Bethel, 5-5 on the season, needed just four innings to corral Davenport. The Lady Wildcats registered 10 hits as Rachel Wade led the way with a two-run home run and a two-run single. She finished with five runs batted in.
     
    Shelby Miller cranked a three-run homer in the first inning. Cati Caro added a double, a single and two RBI while Meghan Tade posted two singles.
     
    Bethel required six innings to dispose of Okemah as Tariah Brooking and Miller collected two singles apiece. Miller finished with two RBI.
     
    Caro added a run-scoring double for the winners and teammate Tayler Short chipped in with a triple.
     
    Bethel will launch play Thursday at the Norman Festival. The Lady Wildcats will oppose Norman North at 4 p.m. and Westmoore at 7 p.m. Westmoore is the second-ranked squad in Class 6A.
