The Savages of Tecumseh swept Jones Tuesday, 4-0 and 10-2.
In the seven-inning opener, Connor Patton earned the pitching win by allowing three hits and fanning eight in four innings. Gage Trahan, who relieved in the fifth, struck out five and permitted four hits.
Tecumseh combined three hits with three errors by the visitors.
Darian Permetter had a run-scoring single in the third inning.
In the six-inning nightcap, Tecumseh scored four runs in the bottom of the first en route to the victory. The Savages, now 9-2, also had three runs in the fifth.
Jones scored its only two runs of the day in the top of the first.
Jacob Smiley of Tecumseh went the distance and gave up only three hits. He fanned five, walked one and permitted just one earned run in improving to 3-1.
Jordan Colvin led Tecumseh’s 10-hit attack with a 3-of-4 outing that included a two-run double and a two-run single. He finished with four RBI.
Alan Brewer chipped in with a double and a single while Permetter finished with two singles.
“Our pitchers threw great,” Tecumseh coach Chad Trahan said. “They all had command of their pitches.”
The Savages will play the Oklahoma City Broncos at noon Thursday in opening-round play of the McLoud Tournament.
