  • Class 4A’s Dale Lady Pirates flexed their top-ranked muscle Friday with three wins over ranked 6A squads at the Big Cat Classic.

Dale opened with an 8-3 decision against No. 8 Southmoore, and followed up with a 7-5 win over No. 5 Jenks and a 7-0 blanking of 12th-ranked Norman.

Dale out-hit Southmoore 16-7, with Kensi Stith and Taylor Anderson each going long. Stith finished with six runs batted in on her homer and three singles, and Danielle Dockrey and Jaelin Flewallen notched a double apiece and combined for three singles.

Dockrey picked up two singles as Dale rang up 11 hits opposite Jenks, and Reagan Holt plated Dale’s sixth and seventh runs on a double in the bottom of the seventh.

The Lady Pirates out-hit Norman 10-4 as Flewallen, Dockrey and Kassidy Sparks each clubbed a double. Ryanne Griggs finished with three singles.

Now 12-3, the Lady Pirates will face Washington — weather permitting — at noon today at Southmoore. They will then take on Tahlequah at 4:30 p.m., and the classic’s championship game will begin at 7 p.m.
