Meeker’s Lady Bulldogs won their pool Thursday with a 3-0 outing to start the Wellston Tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs opened with a 10-0 shutout over Luther, and followed that with a 17-1 hammering of Crooked Oak. Meeker finished with its only complete-game outing of the day, a 9-5 win in seven over Lincoln County rival Chandler.
Meeker held Luther and Crooked Oak to just one hit apiece while combining for 40 through both games. The game with Luther was halted after four innings, and the game with Crooked Oak lasted just three.
Cortney Edmonds went 2-for-3 versus Luther with a single and a three-run home run, and she notched two singles opposite Crooked Oak.
Morgan Hammontree and Mariah Stansell got two singles each against Luther — Hammontree with two RBI — and Morgan Palmer struck for a double, and inside-the-park homer and three RBI against Crooked Oak. Vanessa Garcia clubbed two singles and drove in three runs against Crooked Oak, while Allison McCutcheon ripped two singles and drove in two runs.
Kiana Paningsoro drove in one run while hitting a single and a double.
Palmer hit four singles against Chandler, while Edmonds picked up two singles and a triple and five RBI.
Meeker (6-2) will play at 2 p.m. Saturday against the winner of the pool with Prague, McLoud, Wellston and Newcastle.
