Brooks Richards out-dueled Jaren Green Thursday as Bethel nipped Chandler 3-2.

Both pitchers permitted six hits. Richards permitted four walks and struck out six. Both of Chandler’s runs were unearned as Bethel committed three errors.

Green fanned two and didn’t surrender a walk.

Chandler led 2-1 when Bethel tallied three runs in the top of the sixth on three hits, including a one-out double by J.T. Ketch. Ethan Gingrich followed with a RBI single and advanced to second base on the throw home. Senior Nate Milliman then delivered the game-winning single.

Chandler’s Brady Holcomb posted two singles, one of which drove in a run in the third. Teammate Hunter Hudson went 2-for-2, both singles.

“Brooks was very solid,” Bethel coach Todd Brown said. “He did a heck of a job on the mound. He’s pitched well in all of his outings against some of the best teams we’ve played.”

Bethel, now 10-3, will travel to Little Axe for a 4:30 p.m. varsity/junior varsity game today. The Wildcats will entertain Tulsa Metro Christian at noon Saturday in a varsity/JV doubleheader.
