  • Asher trailed by a run early before Class B’s second-ranked Indians opened the floodgates and hammered Class A’s No. 6 Caddo with an 11-4 loss in Thursday’s opening round of the Kingston Tournament.
     
    The Indians scored twice in the second, third, fourth and fifth innings, and then matched Caddo’s three-run sixth to effect the final margin.
     
    Asher rang up a dozen hits, with Tim Johnson and Tanner Andrews netting three apiece. Andrews, who was also the winning pitcher, batted in three runs.
     
    Caleb Dubler notched two singles, and Trucker Lee offered up a two-run home run for the Indians (9-1).
     
    Andrews threw five innings and gave up one run on four hits while striking out six batters and issuing no walks. Johnson closed, giving up three runs on two hits while fanning one and walking five.
     
    The Indians committed four errors to three for Caddo.
    Asher will take on the Atoka-Valliant winner at 6:45 p.m. today.
