First Friday returns this week.

First Friday Shawnee returns to Main Street Friday, April 5 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. 9 p.m. Local artists gather to display their unique works - from photography to original paintings, graphic arts to original t-shirts and sweatshirts, skateboards to jewelry.

First Friday Shawnee is a monthly activity that invites the whole family to participate and includes free art projects for kids.

Enjoy the work of local artists and artisans, including henna artist, Ashley Reagan who returns to First Friday Shawnee this month, offering her popular henna art tattoos.

Live Jazz by Dave Stewart & Friends will start at 6:30 and the event will take place both outdoors along the 400-Block of East Main Street, and inside at Sweet Earth Studio, 421 E. Main Street.

First Friday Shawnee is an event by the Downtown Arts Association, Inc., a non-profit arts council, which focuses on arts education & awareness, and revitalization in Downtown Shawnee. The long-term vision is the creation of a family-friendly arts district along Main Street. First Friday Shawnee is a critical component to that end - a monthly gathering that draws artists, supporters of the arts, and those committed to making Downtown a thriving community once more.
