Class 4A’s top-ranked Dale Lady Pirates scored 11 first-inning runs Monday en route to blanking McLoud 15-0 in just three innings.
The Lady Redskins’ bats were held silent, and Dale made the most of eight hits and a dozen walks. The huge first inning was sparked by Danielle Dockrey’s grand slam, which was then followed by a homer from Jaelin Flewallen.
The win pushed Dale — the defending state champion — to 14-4.
Weather permitting, the Lady Pirates will go to Holdenville for a 4:30 p.m. doubleheader today.
