A Shawnee man who suffered leg injuries in a motorcycle accident in southern Oklahoma over the weekend remained hospitalized Tuesday in Texas.
The accident occurred about 11:24 a.m. Sunday morning.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released a report Tuesday that said Larry Cowan, 64, of Shawnee, was driving a 2004 motorcycle westbound on U.S. 70.
As Cowan was driving, a 1993 Chevrolet pickup driven William Riley, 82, Soper, backed out of a private drive, the OHP said, resulting in Cowan’s motorcycle colliding with that pickup.
Cowan was taken by Medi Flight helicopter ambulance to Plano Medical Center in Plano, Texas, the patrol reported.
A hospital representative said late Tuesday that Cowan remained hospitalized at the Plano facility, where he was listed stable condition.
Riley was not injured, the patrol said.
Cause of the accident was listed as improper backing, the report shows.
