Class 4A top-ranked Dale exploded for 17 runs in the first inning Monday en route to a 19-5 devastation of Little Axe.
The game was concluded in 2 1/2 innings via a 12-run rule.
Dale, 28-6, sent 20 batters to the plate in the first inning.
Sam Barry cracked three home runs, two of which occurred in the first inning. Barry compiled five runs batted in.
The Lady Pirates compiled 18 hits in just two innings. Ryanne Griggs slammed a grand-slam home run in the first inning and Danielle Dockrey finished the day with three hits, including two doubles.
Collecting two hits apiece for the victors were Taylor Anderson, Jaelin Flewallen and Kortlyn Wilkey. Flewallen lashed a triple while Anderson and Wilkey had a double apiece.
Weather permitting, Dale will conclude its regular season at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Harrah. The Lady Pirates will travel to Crescent Thursday for a four-team district tournament. Top-seeded Dale will hook up with Crescent at 1 p.m. with Chisholm and Stroud also clashing in the opening round.
The top two district finishers will advance to the state tournament.
