The Pirates of Dale erupted for 19 hits in five innings Monday while applying a 15-1 whipping on McLoud.

McLoud enjoyed its only lead at 1-0 in the top of the first inning.

Dalton Tillison had a solo home run in the second inning and Lane Cox swatted a two-run HR in the fourth.

Evan Anderson and Colt Manship of Dale went 3-of-3 with a double apiece. Teammates Chase Byndas, Tanner Nelson, Jace Wilkins and Taylor Smith registered two hits apiece with Byndas credited with a double.

Right-hander Hunter Pinkston earned the pitching win with a five-inning four-hitter. Pinkston struck out six and walked two.

Dale, 22-3, received a district tournament bye because of its No. 1 ranking in Class 2A. The Pirates will entertain Vian, the second-ranked team in Class 3A, at 4 p.m. Thursday. Friday, Dale will travel to top-ranked (3A) Verdigris, then play at 6A Southmoore Saturday.
