SSC's Permanent Issue schedules concert, auditions.
Seminole State College’s band Permanent Issue will entertain the public with a free concert Tuesday, April 30. Everyone is invited to attend.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. at the Jeff Johnston Fine Arts Center on the SSC campus. There is no admission charge. All 8 members of the group will participate in the event featuring music ranging from rock & roll to contemporary country.
Student-musicians featured in Permanent Issue include: Jonathan Coon, Piano; C.J. Williams, Drums; Josh Vandergriff, Rhythm & Lead Guitar; Seth Dean, Rhythm & Lead Guitar and Vocals; and Amanda Johnson, Vocals.
Auditions will be held Thursday, May 2, 2013 for students interested in being a band member for the 2013-2014 academic year.
Each year, interested current and prospective students go through competitive auditions and interviews to be selected as a band member. Once chosen, the “Permanent Issue” performers receive SSC tuition scholarships to continue their education on SSC campus.
Auditions will be held at 2 p.m. in the Jeff Johnston Fine Arts Center on the SSC Campus. The band consists of vocalists and instrumentalists.
Permanent Issue is a contemporary country and rock-and-roll student band. The band performs as a public relations tool for the college and supplies entertainment at SSC campus events and civic events.
The students also perform several concerts each semester at high schools in the surrounding areas.
