But Cati Caro blasted a game-tying three-run home run and the Lady Wildcats went on to defeat Kellyville 7-6 in eight innings Thursday for a runner-up finish at a Class 5A regional tournament.

With the comeback win and a 2-1 regional day, Bethel advances to its fifth straight slow-pitch state tournament. The tournament is slated for Wednesday at Oklahoma City’s ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.

In the bottom of the eighth, Tariah Brooking doubled. After a walk to Shelby Miller and an Ashley Elmore single loaded the bases with one out, Brittany Freeman’s sacrifice fly to right center provided the winning run.
