  • Tecumseh qualifies several for 4A state

  • Tecumseh’s Tesa Potter set a new school record in the 800-meter run, the Savages finished fourth in the boys’ team standings at 87 points, and several members of Tecumseh’s track teams qualified for the state meet during a Class 4A regional Saturday.

  • Tecumseh’s Tesa Potter set a new school record in the 800-meter run, the Savages finished fourth in the boys’ team standings at 87 points, and several members of Tecumseh’s track teams qualified for the state meet during a Class 4A regional Saturday.
     
    Potter was second in the 800 at 2:25.56, and she joined Taylor Williams, Kanasa Spybuck and Zandy Sigman for a second-place time of 10:36.15 in the 3,200-meter relay. Potter and the relay team will compete in the state meet Friday and Saturday at Ardmore High School, along with several members of the boys’ team.
     
    Logan Funderburk was second in the 3200 run (10:25.46) and the 1600 run (4:43.10), and he was joined by Stephen Melot, Tanner Rickey and Duane Coleman for a second-place and state-qualifying time of 8:34.31 in the 3200 relay.
     
    Melot was third in the 800 run at 2:03.62, and Melot, Coleman, Rickey and Caleb Austin qualified for state in the 1600 relay with a fourth-place time of 3:32.64.
     
    Rickey, with a time of 22.97, was fourth in the 200 dash, and Melot was sixth in the 400 dash at 51.32.
