BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) — Arraignment has been delayed for a Bartlesville man accused in the death of his 81-year-old grandmother.
A court date had been set for Wednesday for 20-year-old Brandon William Capps, who is charged with first-degree murder. A judge has reset the appearance to June 12.
Capps is accused in the Oct. 31, 2012, death of Clara Jean Hammer.
Investigators arrested Capps after Hammer was found beaten to death in her home.
The Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise reports (http://is.gd/jgPJvT ) that Capps told investigators he beat the woman with a baseball bat and stole jewelry and her car.
Capps was bound over for trial following a March 19 preliminary hearing. He's being held in the Washington County Jail on $1 million bond.
