  • Library service took a big turn in McLoud in 1997, when the McLoud Public Library opened in its current location on the corner of Main and Hinchley Streets in downtown.

And it’s hard for many people to believe that happened 16 years ago, but it did. The library invites the community to celebrate the building’s “Sweet 16” at an anniversary celebration starting at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 16, in the Milburn Room of the library, 133 N. Main St.

The come and go reception will be a customer appreciation event commemorating the city’s support of the library, and all ages are invited.

Registration is not required to take part.
