  • Nine OBU business seniors were recently honored.

  • Nine Oklahoma Baptist University senior business majors received awards for outstanding work during the Paul Dickinson College of Business awards assembly recently.
     
    Austin Germiller, an interdisciplinary: computer science/physics major from Parachute, Colo., was named the Outstanding Overall Senior in the College of Business.
     
    Germiller, who will graduate with the scholastic designation magna cum laude, also was recognized by Dr. David Houghton, dean of the College of Business, during the university’s Awards Convocation May 8 in Raley Chapel.
     
    Craig Alvarez, a professional accountancy major from Wichita Falls, Texas, received the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) Outstanding Award. Jonathan Dicrisantis, a professional accountancy major from Oklahoma City, received the award for Outstanding Senior in Accounting.
     
    Brett Vandervort, a finance major from Tulsa, was named Outstanding Finance Senior. Vandervort will graduate with the scholastic predicate magna cum laude. Elliot McGowen, an international business major from Oklahoma City, was named Outstanding International Business Senior.
     
    Cody Potter, a management/finance major from Miami, Okla., was named Outstanding Management Senior. He will graduate with the scholastic designation magna cum laude. Alicia Bang, a marketing major from Independence, Mo., was named Outstanding Marketing Senior. She will graduate with the designation cum laude.
     
    Joseph Michael Chadwick, an interdisciplinary: computer science/mathematics major from Parker, Colo., was named Outstanding Computer Science Senior. He will graduate with the designation cum laude with college honors. David Smith, a finance major from Choctaw, was named Outstanding Economics Senior. He will graduate with the scholastic designation magna cum laude.
     
    The seniors will participate in OBU’s 2013 Spring Commencement Friday, May 17, in Raley Chapel’s Potter Auditorium. Students graduate with the scholastic predicate summa cum laude for maintaining at least a 3.95 grade point average. Students who maintain at least at 3.70 GPA are designated magna cum laude. Students who maintain at least a 3.40 GPA are designated cum laude.
