Nearly 3,000 homes and businesses were without power in Shawnee late Friday night after storms that dropped tornadoes in the Oklahoma City area passed through Pottawatomie County.
According to OG&E System Watch, about 2,749 in Shawnee without power at about 11:50 p.m., with those numbers being part of the 78,000 OG&E customers without power statewide.
Heavy rainfall from the storms caused brief flash flooding in parts of Shawnee as well.
The storm had previously spawned tornadoes in the Oklahoma City area that reportedly killed five people, while also causing damage and widespread power outages there.
The storm also forced the closure of all major interstates out of the Oklahoma City area Friday night, mostly because of flash flooding.
