T.M. Cook Jr., 92, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Longview, Texas. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., on Monday, July 15, 2013, in The Chapel at Griffin~Hillcrest Funeral Home. Services will conclude in The Chapel.
Mr. Cook was born on May 13, 1921, in Healdton, Oklahoma, to Troman Mitchell Cook, Sr. and Leona Ruth (Arnold) Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alleyene Cook; and one grandson, Steven Mark Perry.
Mr. Cook was a graduate of Vanoss High School. In his youth, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and during World War II he worked in the shipyards in California. He worked as a rotary driller in the oil field industry, worked for a tank company building oil and grain tanks and also worked as a crane operator.
He is survived by his son, Don Perry, and wife, Paula of Gilmer, Texas; grandson, Michael Perry; two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; step-children, Arleigh Wallace of Sulphur, Okla., and Marilyn Bilderback of Eureka, Calif.
Family visitation will be held today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Griffin~Hillcrest.
