  • STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — An Oklahoma State University English professor has been awarded more than $40,000 for being named a Guggenheim Fellow.

  • STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — An Oklahoma State University English professor has been awarded more than $40,000 for being named a Guggenheim Fellow.
     
    OSU says the John Guggenheim Memorial Foundation awarded the fellowship to professor J.C. Hallman for his non-fiction work research project that focuses on the effects of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the African country of Swaziland.
     
    Hallman is one of 175 scholars awarded a Guggenheim fellowship from among more than 3,500 applicants.
