Kenneth Weathers of Shawnee was playing his guitar in Woodland Veterans Park when he was reportedly punched in the face, with suspects allegedly taking his Fender guitar.
Weathers, 50, who is partially blind in his right eye, he said, reported to Shawnee police he was assaulted by five Native American males.
The incident occurred about 2 p.m. Monday, but Weathers reported the incident to police about 5:38 a.m. on Tuesday, reports show.
“Weathers advised he was knocked unconscious by the males,” the report shows, with the officer noticing a cut around his chin and lips.
Shawnee police began investigating this case and have already turned the case over to the district attorney’s office to request an arrest warrant for at least one suspect.
    Watch for updates.
