  • Mount Saint Mary proved to be little competition Friday as Dale frolicked 17-1 at the Chisholm Trail Classic at Shawnee’s FireLake fields.

The game went just 2 1/2 innings because of the run rule. Dale, the home team, scored 14 runs in the bottom of the first inning, then added three runs in the second. St. Mary tallied one run in the first.

Dale collected eight hits to go along with eight walks and five errors.

Erin Harris, who was on the mound the first two innings, earned the victory to move to 2-0. Lauren Hood pitched the third inning.

Harris also led Dale’s offense with a double, a single and four runs batted in. Hood, like Harris a freshman, added two singles. Senior Jaelin Flewallen also had two singles.

Dale, 3-0, will continue Chisholm Trail Classic play today with two scheduled games — Plainview at 10 a.m. and Tuttle at 1 p.m.

After opening its season with two Thursday victories, Bethel dropped a 10-0 decision to Tuttle Friday at the Chisholm Trail Classic.

Tuttle collected 10 hits in disposing of the Lady Wildcats in five innings.

Bethel posted two hits — a double by Bry Flanagan and Shelby Miller’s single. Tuttle was never pressed after scoring four runs in the first inning and two runs in the second.

Thursday, Bethel knocked off Mount Saint Mary 12-2 in four innings, then clipped Plainview 12-0 in just three innings.

Kelsey Eropkin headed Bethel’s nine-hit attack with a double, a single and two runs batted in. Miller drove in three runs on two singles and added a stolen base.

Flanagan drilled a solo home run.

Bethel, 2-1, will continue Chisholm Trail Classic action today, beginning with Marietta at 10 a.m. The Lady Wildcats will also take on Cache at 2:30 p.m.
