The Lady Pirates clobbered Plainview 11-0, then moved on to sneak by Tuttle 3-2 on the international tiebreaker format. Both teams collected six hits, neither side committed an error and both left a total of eight runners on base.

“It was a heck of a game,” said Powell. “I’m extremely pleased. I’m super proud of the way we played.”

Powell called the win over Tuttle “a team effort.”

Erin Harris got the pitching win, striking out three in the process. All of Dale’s hits were singles, with Taylor Anderson driving in Danni Manning for the game-winner.

Taylor Powell (2-0) earned the pitching win against Plainview, giving up just three hits while fanning six.

Erin Harris, Lauren Hood and Shelby Savage had two hits apiece — Harris and Hood with a double each.

The game was stopped after four innings on the run rule.

Dale hosts Davenport at 4:30 p.m. Monday, with the varsity teams playing first.
