  • Mabel Bassett Correctional Center in McLoud, will have the official ground breaking ceremony, today at 2 p.m. for a new Chapel.
     
    The 5,000 square foot chapel has been designed to provide a large worship center, class rooms, library and Chaplain's office. The auditorium incorporates a vaulted ceiling, raised stage and built-in baptistry and it will be able to accommodate over 250 participants.
     
    This will be the fifth chapel constructed in Oklahom Correctional Centers. All the chapels are built from donated materials, volunteer labor and monetary gifts.
     
    The Chapel's budget is estimated at $500,000. At the present $165,000 has been raised.
