  • Konawa offered little resistance Thursday as top-ranked Dale rolled to a 16-0 victory.

The Lady Pirates needed just 2 1/2 innings to move to 8-0. Dale tallied nine runs in the first inning and seven runs in the second.

Victorious hurler Erin Harris (4-0) didn’t permit a hit in a three-inning stint. She fanned five, walked one and hit a batter.

Reagan Holt propelled Dale’s 14-hit attack with three singles. Lauren Hood posted two runs batted in off a triple and a single while Danielle Manning had a double and a single and finished with two RBI.

Lacey Hood and Shelby Savage finished with two singles apiece.

“We hit it really well,” Dale head coach Andy Powell said. “And we didn’t make an error.”

The victors will compete Friday in the Hall of Fame Shootout at Shawnee’s FireLake diamond. Dale will encounter Bridge Creek at 2:45 p.m., then collide with fifth-ranked Wayne at 6:15 p.m..

Wayne knocked off Dale in the first round of last fall’s fast-pitch tournament en route to the state championship.

“We’re looking forward to the game with Wayne,” Powell said.
