David Ray McKenzie, longtime Chandler resident, was born April 23, 1949, in Vallejo, Calif., and departed this life Aug. 24, 2013, at his home in Chandler at the age of 64 years.
David was the son of Hershel and Laura Mae (Planty) McKenzie.
He married Connie Nance on Aug. 5, 1972, in Fairfield, Calif.
David worked for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services as a social worker for many years after owning his own business. He was head Scout Master for Troop 111 in Chandler.
His parents preceded David in death.
Survivors include his wife, Connie, of the home; two sons and daughter-in-law, Reed and Laura McKenzie of Edmond, Sean McKenzie of Fort Gordon, Ga.; one sister and brother-in-law, Carole and Ted Martin of Fairfield, Calif.; three grandchildren, Jacquelyn McKenzie of Houston, Texas, Dayton McKenzie of Edmond, Maecy McKenzie of Edmond; other relatives and many friends.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the DHS Christmas Gift Program for Lincoln and Pott. counties.
Memorial service was at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the First United Methodist Church in Chandler with Rev. Allen Carson and Tom Wright officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
