  • Suspect sought in robbery of Bison Federal Credit Union

  • The FBI and Shawnee police are looking for a female suspect who robbed the Bison Federal Credit Union Monday afternoon and fled with an accomplice in a getaway car.

  • The FBI and Shawnee police are looking for a female suspect who robbed the Bison Federal Credit Union Monday afternoon and fled with an accomplice in a getaway car.
    The heist occurred about 3:45 p.m. at 2 W. MacArthur.
    Special Agent-in-Charge James E. Finch of the Oklahoma City Division of the FBI reported a black female entered the credit union and approached the teller counter with a note demanding money.
    The teller complied, agents reported, and the woman placed an undisclosed amount of money in a white purse with a shoulder strap before departing the credit union.
    "No weapon was observed or threatened," the FBI reported, but the suspect kept her hand in her purse during the robbery.
    She was seen entering the passenger side of a light gray or silver Chrysler 300 or similar vehicle with dark tinted windows, which was last seen leaving northbound on Broadway Street.
    Shawnee police converged on the area in search of the suspect vehicle and the FBI responded to investigate.
    The suspect is described as a black female who is 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing 240 lbs. She had long black hair in braids and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark sunglasses.
    The FBI and the Shawnee Police Department are investigating this case.

    According to news archives, the last reported bank robbery at Bison Federal Credit Union in Shawnee occurred in September 2005.
