Class B’s No. 2 Asher notched two wins Monday in a three-way contest with Coleman and Silo.
The Indians shut out seventh-ranked Coleman 8-0 before handing Class A’s No. 3 Silo a 7-1 setback. The encounter with Coleman lasted just five innings on the run rule.
Caleb Dubler (5-1) was the winning hurler in that outing. He held Coleman to two hits while walking one and striking out six.
Corey Holman had a three-hit effort that included two doubles, and Ryan Pybas finished with a double and a single. Hunter Fowler offered up two singles, and Philip Leon came away with a two-bagger.
Asher led Silo 2-1 after two innings before putting the game out of reach with a five-inning top of the fifth. Holman rang up three singles, and George Merchain added two base hits.
Trucker Lee finished with a double as Asher out-hit the Rebels 8-5.
Tanner Andrews was the victorious pitcher. His complete-game effort yielded five strikeouts, and he walked two while improving to 4-3.
Asher was 1-1 during a two-game road stint Friday and Saturday. The Indians hammered Class A’s No. 17 Wister 14-0 in five innings Friday, but suffered an 8-5 loss Saturday to Class A’s sixth-ranked Rattan.
Now 17-5, Asher is scheduled to travel to Leedey Friday, then meet Leedey and host Okarche in a three-way contest Saturday.
