Class A’s second-ranked Dale crushed Okarche Monday, 16-1, as the Pirates tallied 14 hits in the five-inning run rule.

Tanner Nelson and Jace Wilkins each went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles, and Xavier Lanham was 2-for-3 with a single and double. Gage Ross, Lane Cox and Dalton Tillison each added a double, and Skyler Martin was the offensive sparkplug at 3-for-3 with a two-run home run in the second inning.

Dale led 1-0 after the first inning, and deleted a 1-all tie by scoring nine runs in the bottom of the second.

Chase Byndas went the distance to move his mound record to 3-1. He gave up one run on four hits while whiffing eight batters and allowing two passes.

Dale played errorless behind him.

Now 15-4, Dale will travel to top-ranked Byng for a 4:30 p.m. battle of the Pirates Tuesday.
