A 22-hit attack fueled Macomb to a 19-4 five-inning romp of Butner Tuesday.
Macomb tallied 10 runs in the first three innings, then knocked out the visitors with a 10-run fifth.
Kailin Gregg not only recorded the pitching victory but led Macomb’s offensive splurge by hitting for the cycle — a grand-slam home run, a triple, a double and a single. She knocked in six runs.
On the mound, Gregg allowed three hits in five innings. She struck out 10 in improving to 11-6 on the year.
Shania Pace also had four hits, including a home run, en route to finishing with seven RBI. Ashley Carpenter registered two triples and two singles while finishing with six RBI.
Destiny Redmon collected three singles. Cre Pope, Kaitlyn Alkire and Torre Annanders finished with two singles apiece.
Macomb, 21-9, will entertain Strother Thursday. The junior high game is slated for 4 p.m. with the varsity contest set for 5:30.
Macomb will finish the regular season Monday at Wanette. Macomb will begin district play Thursday, Sept. 26 at Roff.
