House Republican Policy Committee Chairman James Lankford (R-OK) today voted in favor of H.J. Res. 59, the continuing resolution to fund the government through December 15 at sequester levels. The bill also fully and permanently defunds Obamacare and maintains the full faith and credit of the United States with respect to our national debt responsibilities.
“I am proud to join my colleagues in the House to pass a bill that keeps the federal government running while also fully and permanently defunding Obamacare,” said Lankford.
“Oklahomans have consistently asked me since I took office to do everything I can to protect them from the harmful effects of the President’s healthcare law. They also expect the federal government to pay our bills and continue to provide services to our veterans, active military, senior adults and others who depend on operational federal services.
“We now await action by the Senate. Their constituents are our constituents, and our constituents have said loud and clear that they do not want this law. Its harmful effects have already guaranteed many will see drastic premium increases, decreased access to and quality of care and fewer full-time jobs available. The reality of this law does not live up to the promises made three years ago,” concluded Lankford.
