  • The Temple Baptist Church, 1234 E. Highland, will host a series of revival meetings beginning Sunday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. On Monday through Wednesday, Sept. 23-25, the services will begin at 6:30 p.m. nightly.

Chris Walden, pastor of The Rock Fellowship Church in Aubrey, Texas, will be preaching in each service. Walden while attending Oklahoma Baptist University, served as youth minister at Rock Creek Baptist Church. Chris has been with the Temple Baptist Church in revival meetings twice before.

Rick McGee and friends, from the First Baptist Church in Wayne, will be providing the music service. McGee and friends, a group of 10 people, will be providing congregational singing plus many music specials. McGee served as music minister at Temple from 1979-1983. Besides serving as pastor at Wayne, he travels all over the United States leading in revival meetings providing both music and preaching.

There is child-care available for nursery through 4 year olds.

The theme of this revival meeting is "Remember the Steeple."

The steeple on top of Temple's auditorium has been there for 25 years. It was bright white when it was new but has become discolored over the years. Pastor Mike Craig has preached a series of messages to the church in preparation for this revival meeting that just as the steeple needs to be cleaned, so Christians need that daily cleansing from the sins that try to affect and harm our spiritual lives.

The public is invited to all of the revival services.
