  • Heath Gray’s 8-yard scoring run in the third quarter was just enough to give Chandler a 14-7 non-district triumph over Harrah Friday night.

Harrah launched the scoring with a 24-yard second-quarter run and was successful on the extra-point kick for a 7-0 advantage.

Chandler drew within 7-6 on junior Austin Miller’s 4-yard scoring reception from sophomore Mason Myers but a missed extra point allowed Harrah to retain a 7-6 halftime lead.

Gray’s TD run and a two-point conversion pass from Myers to Rodney Lewis concluded the scoring.

Chandler out-offensed the host Panthers 297-198, including a 194-165 rushing advantage. Chandler had one pass intercepted while Harrah lost two fumbles.

Chandler improved to 2-1 while Harrah dropped to 1-2.

The Lions will open their District 3A-2 campaign Friday night at Bethany.
