Asher’s Lady Indians, Class B’s fourth-ranked squad, hit Maud with a 9-1 loss Monday in six innings.
Winning pitcher Train Dubler held the Lady Tigers to just two hits, with one being Ashley Fletcher’s solo home run in the top of the third. That brief lead was erased as Meeker scored twice in the bottom of the third, and the Lady Indians went on to add three runs in the fourth and four in the sixth.
Dubler (24-3) finished with 10 strikeouts and one walk.
Asher put together a 12-hit offense that included a double, two singles and three runs batted in by Tristan Milburn. Dubler went 3-for-4, and Sarah Wauahdooah and Haley Odell each added a pair of singles. Desaray Goodgion drove in two runs on a single, and Shayla Dekuyper had a one-run single.
Asher, 24-3, will host a district tournament with Wanette and Paoli beginning at 1 p.m. Thursday. Wanette and Paoli will play at 1 p.m., and Asher will face the loser of that game at 2:30 p.m. The Lady Indians will then take on the Wanette-Paoli winner at 4 p.m.
