Class 4A’s fifth-ranked Tecumseh, behind a two-hitter from winning pitcher Jordan Detherage, took down Ada’s Lady Cougars by a 10-2 count Tuesday.

The game was stopped after five innings on the run rule.

Detherage struck out two batters and did not permit a walk. Both of Ada’s runs were unearned as Tecumseh suffered from three errors.

The Lady Savages rang up 14 hits, with Suni Meely leading the charge at 4-for-4. Detherage went 3-for-4, and Caitlin Bingham was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs batted in.

Hilary Babbit clubbed a solo home run for the victors, and Bailey Smith added a double in two at-bats.

Now 20-8, Tecumseh will host Washington at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The Lady Savages were originally scheduled to play in Shawnee Thursday, but that game was canceled to accommodate Shawnee’s makeup district game with McAlester.
