Annual Pancakes and Pilots Fly-In is Saturday.
The annual Pancakes and Pilots Fly-In and Air Show returns to the Shawnee Regional Airport for its sixth year this Saturday, Oct. 5. The annual event features flying displays from aerobatic performers, Warbirds and vintage WWII aircraft.
“Pancakes and Pilots is always an entertaining event for the whole family to enjoy,” said Kinlee Farris, executive director of the Shawnee Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“After the pancake breakfast, visitors can spend the rest of the day exploring the planes, talking to the pilots and watching the air show."
The gates open to the public at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast for $5. Pilots and military personnel will be admitted at 7 a.m. Opening ceremonies kick off at 10:55 a.m. with the flying displays running from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Helicopter rides and tandem skydiving are available for a fee. There will be children’s activities, food and vendors available all day during the event.
