Musical slated for three shows.

Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. is playing at The Historic Ritz Theatre 10 West Main St. starting on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. for three shows only and running through Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7:30.

The 60-minute musical, designed for performers 18 years old and younger, is based on the 2008 Broadway production and the 1989 animated feature film. The Creative Magic cast contains 34 actors led by director Jeff Hames.

This classic Disney title contains all of the songs from the Academy Award® winning animated feature film as well as three new songs from the Broadway show.

The Little Mermaid Jr. takes place in a magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she’s the girl with the perfect voice.

Creative Magic Productions is owned and operated by director Jeff Hames along with his wife Valarie Hames. This show’s creative team includes choreographers Nikki Wright and Diana Rodgers, vocal directors Norman Wagner and Valerie McKnight, Promotions Manager, Teresa Burnett, and tech crew Austin Graham and Mike Jones.

This production features the debut performance of 15 year-old, Moriah Pace, as Ariel. The dashing Prince Eric played by returning actor Jacob Rogers. Ursula portrayed by the spectacular Lauryn Whitt. The comical Sebastian played by Hannah Levingston.
