Oklahoma House Speaker T.W. Shannon announces the appointment of Tulsa businessman Jay Helm to the OSU Medical Authority.
The OSU Medical Authority is tasked with overseeing state funds appropriated for the OSU Center for Health Sciences and ensuring that the school is overseen by a quality administration.
Helm, a current member of the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, is an accomplished manager and developer of real estate. He is the CEO of American Residential Group, Ltd., a firm involved in the management and development of multifamily residential properties.
As a leader in the Tulsa community, Helm is committed to seeing Tulsa and OSU thrive. He has also shown continued dedication to improving the quality of life in Oklahoma through his business and volunteer service efforts. He previously served on the OSU Medical Trust.
“Mr. Helm’s leadership and intellect has had a significant and positive impact on the people of Oklahoma,” said Speaker Shannon, R-Lawton. “His membership on the OSU Medical Authority will ensure medical students receive a quality education through the OSU Center for Health Sciences, and that Oklahoma will make greater strides in recruiting quality medical staff that will stay in our great state.”
Helm will be taking over the seat previously held by David Page, who recently resigned. He will serve until May 31, 2014.
