Pig roast, auction raises more than $6,500.

Members of the Lincoln County 4-H program gathered with friends of 4-H and parents to host the 14th annual 4-H Pig Roast and Auction recently at the Agri-Civic Center in Chandler.

Members from across the county along with volunteers prepared a pork roast meal with all the fixin’s. As the highlight of the evening, items that were donated by businesses from across the county were auctioned off to the highest bidder.

The proceeds from the sales and the meal will go to support the awards and trips program for the 4-H members for the 2014 program year. As a result, the members, parents and leaders raised $6,514 from the evening event.

This amount will make up about 70 percent of the total operational budget for the fiscal year.
