Tax workshop scheduled for Oct. 31.

Ready to get started on the right foot for the next tax year? New and seasoned small business owners alike will benefit from training designed to give guidance concerning tax reporting and planning.

Avoid financial headaches in the year ahead and find answers to your important tax questions at a free workshop on Oct. 31 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Francis Tuttle Tech Center, Corporate Training Building, Room D1810, 12777 N. Rockwell, Oklahoma City. Attendees may register at

At the “Business and Tax Basics for Small Businesses” workshop, information will be offered on formation, business structures, a step-by-step guide to business registration, bookkeeping techniques, and a line-by-line explanation of the primary business tax forms. The workshop participants will learn the keys to sales tax registration and collection along with helpful tips on rate tables, reporting formats and exemptions. For existing businesses, participants will also learn the steps to filling out the various business tax forms and which forms and laws have changed based on the latest legislative decisions.

Presenter is Dewey Brandon, Oklahoma Tax Commission.Brandon has been presenting workshops for the OK Tax Commission for more than 20 years. There will be ample time to visit with the presenter and ask questions specific to your business.
