A time of gathering for family and friends will be held for Frances Lee Brown, 62, of Ardmore, on Monday evening, October 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Frances was born to Harold and Frances Lee (Collins) Wilson on October 24, 1950, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on October 18, 2013, at the Ardmore, Oklahoma hospital.
She married Clifford Scott Brown, Sr. on March 24, 1972 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma.
Frances was a graduate of Wynnewood High School, and attended East Central University, where she obtained her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education. She taught school at Strother, Oklahoma before becoming a teacher at Plainview High School in 1977, where she had worked until her recent retirement. She had been tutoring students and was an avid reader. She also had a passion for cooking and traveling.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Clifford Scott Brown, Jr. on July 1, 2013.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Scott Brown of the home; daughter, Betsy Cowie and husband, Den of Ardmore, Oklahoma; three granddaughters, Caleigh, Alexandra and Emelia, all of Ardmore, Oklahoma; brother, Bill Wilson and wife, Becky of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
