Halloween is just a little more than a week away.
That means on Oct. 31, young pirates, princesses and even a few ghosts and goblins will trek out ready to fill their bags with treats. Children in Norman, Noble, Lexington, Moore and Oklahoma City will visit neighborhoods as they trick-or-treat.
Cleveland County deputies want kids to enjoy the holiday and offer a few safety reminders:
• Wear costumes made of flame-retardant material
• Make sure costumes are light reflective
• Carry a flashlight
• Never go into a stranger’s home
• Trick-or-treat with an adult
• Don’t eat unwrapped candy
Cleveland County Sheriff Joe Lester wishes everyone a safe and Happy Halloween.
“I want all children to have fun as they trick-or-treat through neighborhoods but please remember these safety tips,” Lester said.
