Regents approve external audit.
The Seminole State College Board of Regents heard reports on campus activities, an update on the Denmark Student Exchange Program and approved the FY13 External Audit Report.
During the President’s report to the Board, Dr. Jim Utterback gave an update about SSC’s Educational Foundation Golf Tournament that was held Sept. 19 that raised over $24,000.
The report also included news about the current Denmark students who are here during an 8-week exchange program, and a report on a recent trip to Denmark by three SSC faculty members.
The President also told the Board about the College’s participation in the Oklahoma State Chamber Washington D.C. Fly-In last month, recent activities by the President’s Leadership Class, Native American Student Association and the Student Government Association, and a campus Constitution Day Jeopardy competition.
As their only item of business, the board approved the FY 13 External Audit Report covering miscellaneous claims, athletics and bookstore inventory.
The report, which reflected no findings and was termed a “clean audit” was presented to the Audit Committee prior to the meeting. Wade Fisher with Hinkle & Company, PC, who conducted the audit, attended the Board meeting and complimented SSC Vice President for Fiscal Affairs Katherine Benton and her staff for their cooperation during the audit process Several Board members echoed their appreciation of Vice President Benton and her staff for their efforts.
Board members present at the meeting included Chairman David Wilson, Marilyn Bradford, Karen James, Leesa Adams, Mike Ervin, Marci Donaho and Curtis Morgan.
The SSC Board of Regents’ next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 21.
